Describe the proposed arrangement and follow consultation and decision.
Open My flexible working and choose the new-request control. Select Type of change, such as weekly hours, working days, times, location or hybrid working.
Describe Current arrangement and Requested arrangement clearly, each using 3–4,000 characters. Add an optional reason and choose a Requested start date today or later.
Add optional weekly hours, work location and working days where relevant. Weekly hours must be between 0.5 and 168. Check the selected day buttons and full proposal before Submit request.
Open the saved request from Current and follow Consultation, Decision and Request history. Consultation notes and the decision are visible to you; expand View decision details for the agreed arrangement and reasons.
If the request is Not agreed and Request reconsideration is offered, explain why it should be reconsidered and submit it through that control. Follow the resulting decision in the same record.
Use Withdraw request only where offered and read its confirmation. Withdrawal retains history and leaves the existing working arrangement unchanged.
For an agreed arrangement, check Implementation and the effective date. Agreement does not itself change your working pattern; HR records implementation separately. Completed records remain in History.
An agreed decision and an implemented employment change are separate stages.
If submission is blocked, check both arrangement descriptions, a valid start date and any entered hours. Use the displayed employer process and deadlines; this guide does not determine statutory eligibility. Check the saved record before repeating an uncertain submission.
