Choose eligible primary and backup HR owners without changing access to existing conversations.
Open Private HR enquiries in the administrator tools and read the current owner settings. Only eligible active HR administrators can be selected.
Choose Edit enquiry owners. Select the primary owner and, where available, a different eligible backup. Selecting an owner does not grant HR privileges.
If there is only one eligible administrator, there is no independent named backup. Do not grant access solely to fill the dropdown; decide separately who should have HR authority.
Choose Review changes. The selected owners apply to new enquiries only; existing conversations keep their original owner and restricted membership.
Read the confirmation that these owners should receive new confidential HR enquiries, tick it and choose Confirm enquiry routing.
Reopen the settings to verify the saved routing. If the primary owner is inactive or is the sender, allocation tries the backup and then another active HR administrator; it never assigns the sender as their own enquiry owner.
New private HR enquiries follow the saved allocation rules. Existing conversation ownership and membership remain unchanged.
If no backup is eligible, ask the workspace administrator to check roles. Do not grant HR access solely to make a dropdown non-empty.
A backup must be a different eligible active HR administrator. With only one eligible administrator, there is no independent backup to select.
